Title: Video Forensic Watermarking
Headline: A robust and fast video watermarking solution using dual tree complex wavelet transforms
Description: Forensic watermarking is a process by which a unique, invisible serial number can be added to video contents. The watermark is designed to remain with the content, regardless of how it might be transcoded, resized, downscaled or altered in different ways for distribution. The Video Watermarking system adds a distinctive, imperceptible watermark to each copy of the content. The benefits of Video Watermarking System are: • To use the fully-featured REST API in order to manage the entire watermarking process; • To be robust even after recording, transcode, cropping, rotation, or compression; • To integrate with other workflow systems in a simple way.

TV Everywhere

Title: TV Everywhere
Description: In the recent decades, the emergence of social networks as well as the new IP-based software and hardware infrastructures have been increased in production and broadcast of television programs. Therefore, the need for more interaction with audiences through various platforms such as the second screen, social networks, hybrid television (Hbbtv) and OTT (Over-the-top) services has risen. These conditions need to provide a new architecture of software systems. Following this matter, we are working on the new comprehensive platform that supports these requirements.

Hybrid broadcast broadband TV Trial

Title: Hybrid broadcast broadband TV Trial
Description: We have managed an end-to-end Hybrid broadcast broadband TV Trial ( HbbTV) solution in the R&D Lab and evaluated several hybrid services and different methods of service delivery such as DSM-CC (Digital storage media command and control) and over broadband. We have also run an application development and test environment. In this environment, our experts develop HbbTV apps and test them before transmission. Furthermore, we first verify various brands of HbbTV receivers including: IDTVs and STBs (Set-top boxes) for HbbTV 2.0.1 compliance, and then compare them in terms of latency, at the final stage we offer unified user experience. Last but not least, we plan to produce and develop HbbTV applications. The project includes the most demanded services of interactive TV, providing complementary information to the TV content from broadband and broadcast applications, such as news, weather information, Muslim Prayer Times, EPG program and digital teletext.

DSNG Antenna

Title: DSNG Antenna
Description: DSNG (Digital Satellite News Gathering) equipment is required for live programs. One of the DSNG equipment sections is an antenna with a controller. Due to the lack of local products, IRIB had to purchase from foreign suppliers. Essentially, the aim of this project is to use the capabilities of Iranian manufacturers and to improve industrial knowledge and experience for locals progressively. This can bring self-sufficiency in the field of DSNG production in future. This antenna works at KU band with 1.5m diameter and a carbon fiber reflector including an antenna controller for three parameters of azimuth, elevation and polarization.

KU Band SSP Amplifier

Title: KU Band SSP Amplifier
Description: Gallium nitride (GaN)-based SSPB (Solid State Power Block) are produced by local manufacturers in order to make our national requirements in satellite communication equipment. The output power of the prototype SSPB is 250w and it is designed for operation in Ku-band (13.75-14.5 GHz) for satellite up-link applications. Solid-state amplifiers are cheaper in terms of purchasing and operating than vacuum tube alternatives. The SSPB comprises integrated units which are completed by power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and exclusive cooling mechanism.

IP Video Gateway

Title: IP Video Gateway
Description: Due to new trends to IP solutions in contribution and distribution of high-bit rate video contents, it is necessary to provide the suitable gateways and equipment for these purposes. Some examples of such technologies are video gateways with IP Trunk for the provision of various services including ASI, 3G, HD/SD-SDI, AES/EBU and E1. They are equipped with IP communications using bandwidth optimization and maximum flexibility.
Further Projects(our vision of the future): The development of IP-based equipment with support for other newly video formats such as UHD-1, UHD-2,… and various card combinations

Social TV

Title: Social TV
Description: Due to development of software systems and the growing popularity of social networks among people, it is necessary for broadcasters to keep themselves updated with their audience's views. Hence, it is essential to provide systems such as social television that allows content providers to receive audience's feedback on TV programs. This helps broadcasters to produce more desirable contents. In the light of this, we are now developing new solutions for social TV.

Description: Cloud computing is an important phenomenon in recent years that created a revolution in information storage and processing. Cloud computing in our data centers can be considered as a suitable solution to facilitate and meet our customers' needs. In this context, we are planning to develop a new private cloud platform for our services.
